Dave Powers serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Deckers Brands, a global footwear and apparel company. His current role, which he has held since 2016, includes prioritizing strategic initiatives and investments to expand the global distribution footprint of Deckers Brands, while also ensuring consumers have a seamless experience when engaging directly with each channel or brand. He focuses on long-term growth and omnichannel strategies for the company’s five high-performing brands: UGG®, Teva®, Sanuk®, HOKA®, AHNU, and Koolaburra®. Mr. Powers has served in various roles at Deckers Brands since 2012, including President of Brands and President of Direct-to-Consumer.
He is passionate about consumer-led insight and innovation as well as doing great in business and doing good for people and the planet. Mr. Powers also remains committed to sustainability, making a positive societal impact, and leading a strong company culture.
Under his leadership, Deckers Brands has received accolades for stellar financial performance and sustainability efforts, including being selected as one of Investor's Business Daily’s 50 Best ESG Companies and being recognized by Footwear News as 2020 Company of the Year. Most recently, Deckers was named on Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable U.S. Companies, Newsweek’s America’s Most Responsible Companies for the third consecutive year, and Newsweek’s America’s Greenest Companies for the second consecutive year. In 2020 Mr. Powers was named a 2020 Businessperson of the Year by Fortune, and he ranked on Barron’s list of Top CEOs of 2023.
Mr. Powers has over twenty years of experience in merchandising, concept development, and leadership of global retail operations. Prior to joining Deckers Brands, he held executive leadership roles at Converse and Timberland.
He graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
