Speaker Bio

Marcia Kilgore is a Canadian-born entrepreneur who has founded a string of game-changing companies in the worlds of beauty and wellness. She is recognized globally as an industry leader, a business visionary, a beauty expert, and an inspiration for female entrepreneurs everywhere.

At age 29, Ms. Kilgore was chosen by Time as their cover star, pegging her as one of the new generation of entrepreneurs whose hard work, ingenuity, and fearlessness trumped the networking, business school bigshots. When Oprah Winfrey’s final show aired in 2011, Oprah referred to her former facialist - Ms. Kilgore - as one of the most inspiring people she had ever met. In 2022 The Sunday Times said her new digitally native business had forever changed the way we shop for cosmetics. In between, Ms. Kilgore had sold one business to LVMH, another to Walgreens Boots Alliance, and started three others.

Her extraordinarily successful ventures have included Bliss, which revolutionized the spa industry and sold to LVMH three years after its launch; the upbeat, tongue-in-cheek Soap & Glory, acquired by drugstore giant Walgreens Boots Alliance; and biomechanics-meets-fashion-footwear brand FitFlop, which makes footwear for superwomen and has sold over 62 million pairs of sandals, sneakers, and boots worldwide. In 2016, inspired by the trend of democratization via DTC selling, Ms. Kilgore launched Beauty Pie, disrupting the luxury beauty industry by highlighting the outdated ways of the mainstream beauty industry and providing better quality, for less, through a wholly new cosmetic junkie membership model.

When asked, “What’s next?”, she says she just wants to create things that make people happy.
