Mimi Vaughn is Board Chair, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Genesco Inc., responsible for all areas of the company’s business performance. Ms. Vaughn is the 12th chief executive officer in the company’s 98-year history and was appointed to this position in February 2020 and named Chairman in June 2020. She has served in many roles within the company including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Shared Services. She began her 18-year career at Genesco in 2003 as Vice President of Strategy.

Genesco Inc. is a $2.4 billion Nashville-based specialty footwear retailer and seller of footwear brands in more than 1,400 retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Republic of Ireland, principally under the names Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Schuh, Schuh Kids, Johnston & Murphy, and on e-commerce websites. In addition, Genesco sells footwear under its Johnston & Murphy brand, the licensed Levi’s brand, and other brands.

Prior to joining Genesco, Ms. Vaughn was Executive Vice President of Business Development and Marketing and Acting Chief Financial Officer for Link2Gov Corporation in Nashville, an e- commerce and electronic payment provider. Earlier, she was a Strategy Consultant at McKinsey & Company and advised senior executives and board members of Fortune 500 companies in developing and implementing growth and performance improvement strategies. She also held various corporate finance positions at Goldman Sachs & Co., Wasserstein Perella & Co. Inc., and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Ms. Vaughn currently serves on a number of non-profit boards.

She received a B.S. in foreign service and international economics from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
